Media Liaison
The Marketing Unit has experienced media liaison staff to help you at no cost, and to familiarise you with the University Media policy.
Occasionally, an event will be significant enough to get mediums like television and radio interested in recording and broadcasting parts of it. In these cases, you need to consider:
- The timing of your event, in relation to print/broadcast deadlines
- Providing visual appeal for TV and photo opportunities for print (eg. locations, props)
- Providing electronic/digital feeds for broadcast
- Reserving media seats
- Appointing spokespeople who are available and contactable
- Media training of staff/speakers likely to be interviewed
- Preparation of media invitations, briefing notes, media kits etc
- Embargoed copies of speeches/papers and photos of key people
- Allocating a media centre and quiet interview room(s).
