Costly copulation - research reveals the price of having sex - 9 January 2012

'Sensitivity gene' predicts whether anxious children will benefit from CBT - 27 October 2011

Research involving an Australian-UK collaboration has shown that a genetic marker, called Serotonin Transporter Promoter Polymorphism (5HTPP), can be used to predict whether a child suffering from anxiety disorder will benefit from cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT). This is the first time that genetic analysis has been used to assess whether a psychological treatment like CBT will work for children.

At the request of University management, the Federal Court has appointed a provisional liquidator to Students At Macquarie (SAM) and its commercial catering arm Venues At Macquarie. This was necessary to protect the jobs of Venues employees, which were threatened by the transfer of more than $200,000 last week.
