Information and Communication Sciences Scholarships

The Division of Information and Communication Sciences offers a variety of scholarships to commencing students undertaking the first year of a Bachelor degree program leading to a major in any discipline within the Division.

Scholarships are available in the following areas: physics (Bachelor of Science), astronomy and astrophysics (Bachelor of Science), optoelectronics (Bachelor of Optical Technology), mathematics (Bachelor of Science) or computing (Bachelor of Computer Science, Bachelor of Information Technology, Bachelor of Information Systems, Bachelor of eBusiness or Bachelor of Science).

The scholarships are awarded on merit to Australian citizens or Permanent Residents of Australia.

A number of new scholarships are available each year. Applicants should submit a written statement that describes previous achievements in the area they intend to enrol in and outline future career interests. Applicants may also be required to attend an interview.

In any one year at least one of these scholarships will be offered on a preferred basis to suitably qualified Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander applicants.

Scholarships may be renewed for up to two further years subject to funding and the award holder maintaining a grade point average equal to or greater than listed for the scholarship category.
