More than 5300 students received their awards during the recent graduation series at Macquarie University. This was the largest cohort to ever graduate during one series.

The London Financial Times has ranked the Macquarie Graduate School of Management (MGSM) first in Australia and among the top 40 business schools in the world for the quality of its executive education programs.

NSW Planning Minister Frank Sartor recently announced that planning approval for the new Macquarie University Private Hospital had been granted. This approval means that construction work on the hospital will commence this month and bring around 100 construction jobs to the local area. Once operational the Hospital will create around 400 jobs.

A software program written by 19-year-old Macquarie University student Zac Cohan received an Apple Design Award for 'Best Student Product' at the 2007 Apple WorldWide Developers Conference held in San Francisco last month. The program was developed by Cohan and UNSW student Nik Youdale, using a grant from the Apple University Consortium. Cohan and Youdale each received a MacBook Pro as well as a ticket to next year's developers conference.
