Australian Engineering Week

Macquarie University will mark the contribution made by engineers to society with two events during Australian Engineering Week.

The first event will be a free screening of the movie classic Apollo 13 followed by a panel discussion of the film. Apollo 13 will be shown on Saturday 2 August at 6pm in Macquarie Theatre.

The second event will be a free lecture by John Chapman, Regional General Manager, Siemens Limited, on ‘Megacity Challenges’. As an urban phenomena megacities’ unprecedented size and complexity pose huge challenges for sustainable urban development. Chapman will explore the key challenges and trends that will shape urban development over the coming years in a supplyconstrained world. The lecture will be held at the Macquarie Graduate School of Management on Wednesday 6 August from 5.30pm-6.30pm.
