Science & Technology

Prehistoric life, the universe and almost everything - online!

Would you and your students like to take a free field trip to see evidence that life was flourishing on Earth 3.5 billion years ago?  You can with a new suite of interactive, dynamic, multimedia tools developed in collaboration between Macquarie University and American space agency NASA.

LifeLab visits two areas of the Pilbara and another in Shark Bay in Western Australia with a group of Australian and international scientists. Students are able to freely explore 360 degrees and up to two kilometres at each location, tapping into videos and pictures as they choose. You can also use the site to get more details of the project, and to access training video and some initial lesson plans written by Australian high school teachers. The address is http://pilbara.mq.edu.au

For more information about LifeLab contact Ms Carol Oliver on (02) 9850 8351 or carol.oliver@mq.edu.au
