Would you and your students like to take a free field trip to see evidence that life was flourishing on Earth 3.5 billion years ago? You can with a new suite of interactive, dynamic, multimedia tools developed in collaboration between Macquarie University and American space agency NASA.
- LifeLab, the NASA-Macquarie University Pilbara Virtual Field Trip is available on a free DVD together with three other NASA tools:
- World Wind - a scientific visualisation of Earth, the Moon, Mars, Venus, Jupiter and the Sloan Night Sky Survey

Students are able to freely explore 360 degrees and up to two kilometres at each location, tapping into videos and pictures as they choose. You can also use the site to get more details of the project, and to access training video and some initial lesson plans written by Australian high school teachers.
