Budget

Budgeting is a vital part of event planning because it influences the choices and decisions you make when looking at products or services to include in your event. If possible, know what the available budget is before you start organising your event in any detail.

Expenses

Event expenses you have to budget for may include:

  1. Hire of venue
  2. Hire of audio-visual and other equipment
  3. Catering – food, drinks and service staff
  4. Employing staff
  5. Speakers costs
  6. Advertising and promotion
  7. Fringe benefits tax 
  8. Invitations – design, printing and postage
  9. Printed materials - programs, name tags, table cards etc
  10. Photographer(s), gifts, entertainment etc.

Quotes and purchasing

It is important to choose the service providers or products that are licensed, most suited and affordable under your budget.
