The presentation or ‘look’ of an event venue can be an important element of successful event management.
Do a thorough check of your venue before planning how you are going to set it up. Take note of the location of light switches, power points, fire detectors, lifts, exits, disability access, existing signage, restrooms, car parks, and ease of access to the venue. If you need large deliveries for your event set up, make sure you know where the loading docks are, or how suppliers can get access to the venue if loading docks don’t exist. Note whether there are height or width restrictions for equipment access.
Familiarise yourself with the capacity and scaling of the room in relation to your set up requirements. Ensure walkways and fire exits are clear.
