Design, Print and Production
Consult the Macquarie University One Voice One Image guidelines for publications.
Design
You can hire a graphic designer and use this checklist:
- Prepare a brief with relevant information for the writer, editor, designer, photographer and proof reader where necessary.
- Allocate the production budget for each item
- Consider the audience and distribution method
- Set a schedule for production and design. Include sufficient time for editing and proofing. Complex designs can be more costly.
- Designs should work in colour and mono formats if needed
- Ask to see a design mock-up and paper samples
- When using copy from other University departments, get their approval before-hand
- Give the final proofreading to someone who's good at it and who has not been involved with preparing the copy. Re-check phone numbers and dates and pertinent information.
- Keep to the style and formatting in line with the Macquarie University One Voice One Image
